07 Dec Notty Awards 2023 Exeter
When my business started in 2019 I didn’t for one second think that I would be attending awards evenings and glamming up for a night out to represent my brand. I’m a huge fan of awards nights, it’s a brilliant excuse for networking, meeting people, enjoying good food and most often a good drink. Most awards nights that I have been to in the past have been representing businesses that I work for not my own business.
This November, I found myself heading up the A30 to Exeter for a glitzy night out at the Notty Awards where I was in the final three for the Marketing Maestro award. Just being nominated is pretty amazing. Being down to the final three was a bit of a pinch myself moment. How was my little, but mighty business in the final three. There were nearly 300 nominations and out of those just 29 finalists, and I was one of them.

Arriving at the venue we made our way through the grand Winslade Manor. We were greeted with welcome drinks an opportunity to network and three rather fabulous drag artists. Yup, never been anywhere with drag artists before, the room was buzzing and the atmosphere was electric.
As the night started to flow, we moved to our tables where we had a chance to meet more fabulous business owners. This wasn’t just an award, this was a night of entertainment. We were kept engaged with singing waiters and a delicious three course meal before the first round of awards were announced. With a silent auction followed by desert we were then closing with the last finalists.

Sadly, I didn’t come away with a trophy from the night. However, I was up against two of Exeter’s biggest marketing agencies one of which has been trading since before I was born! Yes, these are big brands and to be in the final three alongside them was an extremely proud moment.
Just because I didn’t get a trophy, I was immensely proud that my brand was getting recognition in a room full of professionals and the buzz and cheer when my business name was read out was moving. Thanks table 22 for the holla.

The end of the evening didn’t disappoint as a live singer belted out several dance classics. After a very busy month and a hugely stressful week, yes, the awards were on the eve of Black Friday. It was fantastic to let my hair down and have good food, good drink and a good dance and celebrate everything that my business has achieved.
Now for the rest of December, there will be a lot less glitz and glam and a lot more head down bum up working hard for each and every one of my clients. Who without, I wouldn’t have been at this awards night celebrating the business that they have helped me to build.
I am forever grateful for what I have achieved providing SEO and PPC Management to so many clients over the years. As we move into December and reflect on the year just gone. I’m already planning some really exciting things for 2024 and can’t wait to see what my business and my clients can achieve.
