27 Nov Nottys 2024
This time last year I was a finalist in the Notty Awards 2023 and I was a nervous wreck! It was the first ever Notty Awards and as a fairly new business myself, that’s new to being nominated for awards, I wasn’t sure of the formalities and what to expect.
I don’t think ANYONE was expecting the sheer amount of joy that the Notty Awards could bring to the evening. Chris Bently the founder, is a bloody legend and knows how to put on a good party. So having been too nervous to enjoy last year, Thinking I didn’t have an office Christmas party to go to this year, I booked a table at the Nottys.
My thought process of not having a Christmas do to go to might have instantly failed, as my diary is now full of invites to festive activities 🙄. But the excuse to get out of Cornwall and do some networking, a bit of drinking, and a lot of dancing was an evening too good to refuse.
By the morning of the event, we had a weather warning in place for snow. Cornwall NEVER gets snow but today there was a blizzard of the stuff falling down. The roads were becoming imparasible and the snow kept on coming. But the event went on and boy did it go off.

Thankfully only the A30 westbound was closed due to snow and abandoned vehicles so albeit a slower journey, we made it safely to Exeter and the venue. From the moment we arrived with a welcome drink in hand, we were straight into the networking.
Big shout out to Table 22 and all the lovely people we met that night. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was electric and the after-awards party was incredible.

If you’ve not yet entered the Notty Awards. DO IT. If you’re not even nominated or a finalist, don’t hesitate. Book a table. It’s the best night out networking with fabulous southwest businesses money can buy.
